Tang 1-6 Rosemount 2-6
Tang played Rosemount in the fourth round of the Intermediate Championship in Tubberclair on Saturday evening. Rosemount made the brighter start playing with the advantage of a strong breeze into the dressing room end. Rosemount had three pts on the board before Tang opened their acc with Aidan Burke slotting over a pt. Rosemount were caught napping when Aidan Burke got on the end of a long ball and finished to the net. Tang paid the penalty when Rosemount goaled straight from the kickout and worse was to follow when Tang lost the ball coming out of defence and Rosemount punished them with a well taken goal. Tang did add a pointed free before the interval when Martin Rock was dragged down bearing down on goal. Rosemount led 2-4 to 1-2 at the break.
Tang had the breeze in the second half but Rosemount were happy to defend in numbers and counter attack on the break. Indeed they took a leaf from Tyrone's book and enjoyed taking most of their kickouts short in the second half and bringing the ball up the Tang fifty line with little effort. Tang did reduce the leeway to two points but Rosemount finished strongly and were three pt winners in the end. Rosemount knocked Tang out of the championship last year and have severely dented their hopes this year with Tang now having to take something from their last match against St Marys
