Tang played Maryland in ACL Div 1 on Tuesday in Drumraney on a calm, summer's evening. Maryland started the brighter opening the game with a couple of pts. Tang kept in touch with Aidan Burke kicking some nice frees. However Maryland finished the half stronger and lead 8 pts to 5 at the interval.

The second half saw Tang exert their influence more in the match with Aidan Burke adding two fourteen yards frees for fouls on Martin Rock, one on the right and the other from the left. Maryland tacked on a couple pts to lead 10-7. Tang responded when Aidan Burke drove a free from the 65 m line on the sideline to the Maryland goal where Joe Conlon flicked the ball the net. Tang, then took the lead with a monstrous point from 60m from the accurate boot of Aidan burke in front with a fine pt from play 30m in of goal but this lead to an Maryland revival who kicked on adding some nice scores. Tang and Maryland traded pts at this stage with Aidan landing another monstrous point from 65m and a delightful pt from play 30m in front of goal. Maryland dug deep with John Reilly, Kieran martin and David Martin landing three pts in a row to take a vital lead with minutes remaining. Tang did find the back of the Maryland net when Martin rock drilled a low shot to the corner of the net to level the match but Maryland landed a pt from the boot of David Martin to take the lead but tang earned a free when Willie Flanagan was upended on the left wing and Aidan Burke kicked it straight and true. Tang had one more chance to kick the winner when Aidan Burke had a free from almost the halfway line but it dropped short and the ref blew the final whistle. Controversy arose when the ref had the score recorded 17pts to 2-10 in favour of Maryland despite the fact Aidan Burke kicked six pts in the second half with the proper score standing at 17pts to 2-11. Tang will feel aggrieved at having got no points from this game and this point could count very important at the end of the season.
