Tang started their 2018 league campaign with a well deserved 6pt victory over last years Intermediate champions.Tang played with a breeze on their backs in the first half and started the match quickly with Niall Bannon scoring a close in free. This was followed by another free taken by Adam Neary after John Rock was fouled. A good passing movement with John Rock finding Eoin Coughlan who finished superbly to the net. Martin Rock then kicked a neat pt. Tang were well on top and defending very well. Adam converted another free after Martin Rock was fouled. Eoin Coughlan was unlucky not to score another goal but for a good save from the Bridge keeper with Adam Neary kicking the resultant 45. Trevor English drove forward and was fouled with Niall Bannon tapping over to lead 1-6. Rochfortbridge finally opened their acc with 27mins gone and then proceeded to add two more to their total. Tang scored their second when John Rock finished off a good move to score from close range. Tang led at the interval 2-6 to 0-3.

Rochfortbridge started the second half brightly quickly kicking two pts before Tang responded with a fine effort from Niall Neary. Niall Bannon kicked a superb free from distance to keep the score board ticking over. The second half was nip and tuck with both defences on top. Rochfortbridge did score a couple of close in frees near the end but never looked like finding that elusive goal. Tang will be glad to have two pts in the bag and will look forward to next weekend. Congrats to Jason Coughlan, John Tumelty, Shane Coughlan and Keelin Galvin who all made their senior debut and all played their part in a good victory.
