Tang 4-4 Milltown 1-6
Tang played Milltown in the second round of Div 7 in Milltown. Heavy rainfall over night left the Milltown pitch very greasy and slippery and credit to both teams for serving up some good football in very difficult conditions. Milltown opened the scoring with two pts before Tang opened their acc with a neat pt from play from the energetic Dean Reddin. Tang went further ahead when Darragh Burke finished to the net from a pass from Niall Neary. Milltown replied with a pt and Owen Coughlan burst through the Milltown defence and blasted a ball over the ball but this was to prove Tang's last score of the half.
Tang scorned a lot of chances and allowed Milltown back in to game.Milltown keep plugging away and were rewarded with a very good goal. However Milltown lost a man to a red card but still took a 1-4 to 1-2 lead at the break.
Milltown started the second half better and were on the offensive but were unable to finish . Milltown added a pt but Tang responded with an individual goal when Niall Neary beat his man and finished superbly to the net. With in mins Darragh Burke finished to net and stretched Tang's lead to three pts. Tang were now on top but poor shot selection resulted in Miltown's keeper setting up numerous attacks. Milltown only scored one pt but were unlucky with a thunderous shot rebounding of the upright. Niall Neary slotted another goal after good work from Darragh Burke and Dean Reddin fielded a high centre from Alan Higgins and coolly kicked a pt. Niall Lynn had a goal chance to put the icing on the cake but the wet ball just skidded away at the last moment. This is Tang's second win and was a well deserved victory with all players working hard all over the field.
