Tang 1-12 Garrycastle 1-10

Tang and Garrycastle had a 2.30 throw in on this May bank holiday Monday with conditions very blustery and showery. Garrycastle played into the stiff breeze in the first half and started the half very promising kicking two pts with Tang struggling to get a hold on the game. After kicking a couple of wides Tang then opened their with a pt from Martin Rock. Tang drew level when Martin kicked a fabulous long range effort. Tang had their tails up now and with the breeze stretched their to 4pts to 2. Garrycastle replied and the match was nip and tuck and then Garrycastle found the net to lead 1-5 to 0-6. Further pts from Trevor English, Aidan Burke, Niall Neary and Martin Rock and a peach of goal from Dean Reddin after good work by Martin Rock and Darrgh Burke. This left Tang with an interval lead of 1-10 to 0-10.

Tang started the second half brightly but were unable to find a score despite having a lot of possesion. Garrycastle were finding it difficult to create chances but gradually they whittled away at the lead and with ten mins to go , Garrycastle drew level. This spurned Tang on and they created some excellent chances with John Rock in hard luck not to find the net. However great play with Aidan Burke and John Rock lead to a pt by the lively Martin Rock. The same player added another for good measure and although Garrycastle laid seige on the Tang goal , there was no way through and Tang claim two valueable league pts. Kieran Duncan and Robert English were outstanding with John Rock and Sean Egan solid throughout. Trevor English was colossel in midfield with Niall Bannon supporting brilliantly. Up front Martin Rock was a match winner with Aidan Burke superb linking defence and attack and of course Dean Reddin who took his goal brilliantly but also defended well when switched in the second half. Tang now look forward to another league on Friday evening next against neighbours Caulry.
