Tang 3-11 Bunbrosna 1-7
Tang played Bunbrosna on Tuesday last in Div 1 League and after disappointing lost to Caulry the previous Sunday, Tang needed a good performance. This is exactly how this match turned out with Tang holding the upper hand in the first half 2-6 to 0-3. Tang showed a greater urgency and craved the Bunbrosna defence open with Josh Flanagan finishing off a fine movement to the net and was very unlucky not to score another with the bun keeper making a fine save. Aidan Burke set up Martin Rock to punch home a goal.
The second half saw Bun play with the breeze but resolute defending from the immaculate John Rock, Kieran Duncan and Sean Egan meant Bun make little headway to cut the deficit. Martin Rock added a third goal and pts from Dean Reddin and Aidan Burke extended Tang's lead. Bunbrosna did rally late in the match but it was a case of too little too late. Apart from players mentioned, Robert English, Alan Higgins and Niall Bannon were strong throughout. Tang now look to the fourth round of the championship on Friday evening next in Moate. A win is essential for Tang to progress to the knockout stages but Milltownpass will provide stern opposition.
