Tang 4-12 Kilbeggan 1-11
Tang played Kilbeggan in Div 7 on Saturday last in Tang. This was a welcome return for Tang after failing to field a second team last season. Played on a bright, sunny March day, Tang started the brighter with Tang on the attack from the whistle. Tang enjoyed their supremacy with Sean Egan dedicating play and Tang forwards lead by Alan Higgins kicked 2-4 and also missed another couple of goal chances. Lee Coughlan slotted a goal with a neat finish after a point attempt fell short and Owen Coughlan finished another to the net. Kilbeggan added four pts and were glad to reorganise for the second half.
The second half was nip and tuck with both teams sharing pts before a purple patch saw Ian Coughlan and William Flanagan score two fine goals and Dean Reddin kicking a few splendid pts. Tang were well on top and the management emptied their bench with Michael Bannon, Niall Lynn, Joey Connor and Paul O’Neill all getting a run out. This game was an enjoyable run out but no doubt tougher challenges will lie ahead. Team Martin Donoghue, Alan Murray, Dean Reddin, Sean Coughlan, Ian Coughlan, Eamon Carey, Sean Egan, Colm Conlon, Lee Coughlan, Alan Higgins, Darragh Burke, William Flanagan, Owen Coughlan, , Michael Bannon, Niall Lynn, Joey Connor, Paul o’Neill.
